The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with many relaxing walks to be had that take you up the back roads of Newmilns, to Darvel or to Galston.
You are also able to walk about the gorgeous Lanfine Estate that will take you to Darvel. As well as this we are are a short drive to Loudoun Hill. You are able to walk and hike up this landmark, recently featured in Netflix's Outlaw King. Here saw the battle of Loudoun Hill, where Robert the Bruce won a battle against the English Army. Loudoun Hill itself is a volcanic plug that provides 360-degree views of the area and on a clear day, you are able to see the Isle of Arran.
