The planning application for the Browns Road car park is due to be submitted to East Ayrshire Planning next week.

Before Christmas, Newmilns Regeneration Association were delighted to confirm the purchase of the vacant site at 2/4 Brown’s Road (known locally as Bedlam) by East Ayrshire Council after a protracted period caused by Title issues.
This project was identified by the people of Newmilns in the last Community Action Plan and was confirmed in the Newmilns Placemaking Maps adopted in 2018.
Funding is being provided from the Town Centre Regeneration Fund.
Below is a proposed General Arrangement and Standard Details drawing to support the planning application for the proposed car park.
The car park will consist of 25 bays - 20 standard spaces, 3 disabled spaces and two electric vehicle charging spaces. A low stone wall will be constructed to the front - reusing stone from the rear wall. The car park will be lit with the same type of lighting that is already present on the Brown's Road - sympathetic to the area (image below).
It is expected that the planning application will be launched next week, but we wanted the community to be notified of the proposals before the application goes live on the planning website.
