Newmilns Christmas Fayre - Friday 4th December 2015

The NRA is delighted to announce Newmilns Christmas Fayre, Friday 4th December 6.00pm - a joint effort between Loudoun Church, Newmilns Community Council and Newmilns Regeneration Association.

We've been working behind the scenes the last few months trying to pull together funding to organise a Christmas Fayre, in conjuction with Loudoun Church and Newmilns Community Council.  The NRA have managed to secure funding thanks to Big Lottery Awards For All, so this means we can make the Christmas Fayre a great occasion for everyone this year and by working together can hopefully make it a successful one.

The festivities begin with carol singing by local children's groups at Lady Flora's Institute for the residents, followed by a candlelit parade down to Loudoun Church where the carol singing will continue. Then it's over to the gardens (across from Browning the Bakers) for the big switch on of the Christmas Tree (kindly donated this year again by Lanfine Estate).  Santa will arrive on his sleigh and meet the children participating in the carol singing inside the Church Hall, where there will be refreshments being served (tea, coffee and home baking).

A large 80ft marquee at Greenside will hold various craft and food stalls selling a selection of goodies from local businesses. We plan to have mince pies, hot soup, cakes, mulled fruit punch, etc. There will be entertainment for the children, Christmas tunes being piped out and lots of stuff to keep the adults amused too!

We hope the community will get behind us to make this first big combined Christmas event a successful one. We want to add to the event every year, making it bigger and better than the prevous year.

If you are interested in having a stall in the marquee, please contact us by email at hello@lovenewmilns.org or through the facebook page. We are also looking for volunteers for marshalling the children as well as putting up the Christmas tree (Saturday 28th November at 10am).

Look forward to seeing you all there!
