Update - NRA Meeting held on Tuesday 9th September
After conducting a feasibilty study and drawing up a business plan, the NRA held a meeting on Tuesday 9th September and voted not to proceed with the Asset Transfer of Jamieson Park and Pavillion as it was thought not to be a viable proposition due to the running costs.
There are other groups which have expressed an interest in taking it over and they will now be in discussion with the Council.
Previously..........
The NRA are currently considering taking over the Jamieson Park and Pavillion as part of the Council's Asset Transfer Program and are currently drawing up a business plan and giving the idea full consideration. We are also looking for your imput, ideas and suggestions as to what groups or individuals might make use of the location for community events - clubs, sports teams, private parties etc.
The buiding reopened in August 2012 after £200k was spent refurbishing the pavillion after the fire in January 2011 and the interior of the Pavillion has been modernised to a high standard with large changing rooms and showers, a spacious kitchen (although no cooking facility is currently installed) and a large hall with wooden floor.
We will keep you updated on the decision but if you have any suggestions or an interest in using either the park or the pavillion, please get in touch.
